About the course

Our three-day retreat in the wild flower meadows and forests of Homer, Alaska will explore the healing power of the plant kingdom. This retreat  led by Nancy Lee-Evans, The Anam Cara Program Director,  is an integral part of the Anam Cara Program teachings  of the interconnectedness of all things. It transforms alienation from the natural world into belonging while building knowledge of the exceptional nutritional and therapeutic value of wild edibles and medicines at your doorstep.

Together we will identify local edible and medicinal plants, learn their herbal properties, and create tinctures, oils, and salves as herbal remedies. We will incorporate wild edibles in our food during the retreat.  We'll also explore plant communication is a learnable skill that brings the entire landscape alive and will change your relationship with nature forever.

Our retreat headquarters is a comfortable home with tent and camper parking space for those coming from out of town. A  yurt and bunkroom are also available to share on a first come, first serve basis with a full bathroom to serve them. If you prefer, we can refer you to fine nearby Bed and Breakfasts that can be quite affordable when sharing. Bring food for cooperatively prepared meals; any foods particular to your personal needs and a few additional supplies as you may choose. A supply list and directions will be provided upon registration.
