Belonging is the essence of being of something.  It creates a home and people who are yours.  Irish scholar and poet John O’Donohue reminds us, “We belong on the Earth.  The rhythm of its clay and seasons sing within our hearts.”    Our hearts grow in their belonging to include family, community, and, if not too long forgotten, our lineage and the Great Circle of Life.  It is one of the things that makes us strong, willing to sacrifice and ultimately to feel at peace.

The Anam Cara Program is about relationships of belonging – to each other, to our bodies, our souls, our families, our community, to Creation, to Spirit in a Celtic context.  Here at the beginning we will explore how we form those bonds, why they are so important to human beings and how to strengthen them in our lives. Through sharing we will explore the impact of bonding in relationship on our lives.

Rooted in the first chakra of belonging, we will develop skills of grounding, body awareness, boundaries and intuition. We will explore our ancestral stories to begin our journeys of ancestral remembrance, concluding with a ceremony of return to the Great Mother.
